I like simple recipes and this delicious spread of easy gluten-free beef tacos with a tasty ground beef recipe is a lean, clean and yet so delicious meal to make any picky eaters happy at dinner time in a blink of a en eye.
This recipe is one of my most popular recipes on Instagram and that's because it is quick and guaranteed to make prep time a breeze for weeknight dinners. You can get it on the table in under 30 minutes and enjoy it with family and friends at home or at your camping site this season. Doesn't that sound amazing?
Let's address the frequently asked questions:
When I want to make weeknight meal prep time super easy - I cook the ground beef in advanced with my go to homemade taco seasoning and use it throughout the week. That way, when dinner time comes, I am not spending time trying to figure out what our next meal should be or looking around the Internet for the next elaborated time consuming recipe.
Ground beef tacos are one of our favorite meals to quickly put together, beef tacos are packed with tons of flavor and all the ingredients are gluten free and organic. Also, let's don't forget, everyone loves a free taco, so taco night is the perfect excuse to host friends during the week, while keeping the work load and cleaning to a minimum. I mean, nobody ever said no to taco night! Am I right?
These tacos are versatile, you can serve them into a corn tortilla, a taco shell, lettuce wraps or as taco bowls with shredded lettuce if you want to make gluten free or even make them a meal low in carbohydrates.
To make these tacos, I used Laura’s Lean 96% Lean 4% Fat ground beef which is an extra lean ground beef best used as an ingredient in lean cooking. When making a meal like tacos or a low-carb burrito bowl, it is nice to make it quickly without worrying about extra fat that has to be drained or accounted for.
The 96% lean ground beef is also great for people trying to include good sources of clean, lean protein in their diets and lifestyle.
For the main dressing or sour cream-like substitute, I used greek yogurt to enrich the recipe with more protein and make it healthier than if I were using traditional sour cream. This quick and easy-to-make sauce is better than the alternative alone, so you don't have to worry about missing out on flavor.
Below is the ingredient list including everything you will need to make easy ground beef tacos:
When it comes to making gluten free recipes, I like to keep my list of ingredients short. I like to combine simple ingredients like garlic, onions, paprika, black pepper, garlic and onion powder to make my taco seasoning. This way I avoid any ingredients I don't want in my food like undesired sugars or any gluten containing component.
For a flavorful gluten-free taco meat seasoning, first I like to skip expensive taco seasoning packets as I previously mentioned. It is unnecessary because you can easily make taco seasoning from fresh ingredients for less than what you pay for that taco sauce package and make your own knowing exactly what's going into it (many taco seasonings brands have gluten and undesired sweeteners and preservatives your meal does not need).
The homemade taco seasoning mix is simple in terms of ingredients and will work perfectly with your meat and even chicken or turkey if you want to experiment with different proteins. That said, you can make adjustments to the taste of the taco seasoning, but alway include the ingredients listed below to guarantee a flavorful meal for the family every time.
The mix includes only a few ingredients listed below:
To cook taco meat to perfection at home or at your camping site make sure to cook the meat over medium heat and use a wooden spoon to break up the ground beef into equal-size pieces as it browns. Once the beef looks fully browned and no pink spots remain, add the water and the Worcestershire sauce. Next, reduce heat, bring to a simmer and cook until the liquid has reduced stirring occasionally.
For saucier taco meat add an extra ¼ cup water and cook until the mixture has slightly thickened. I like to follow the steps below for a bullet proof process:
In my opinion there's no better taco-topping than guacamole, pico de gallo, and cilantro! They are a match mad in heaven and work every time whether you're making an easy weeknight dinner or serving 10 of your favorite people to a delicious taco bar.
For this meal I added extra kick and topped the tacos with diced tomatoes, onions, guacamole, jalapeños cilantro a squeeze of my healthier greek yogurt cream. To make it, I simply use lime juice, greek yogurt and sea salt.
So whatever your favorite toppings may be, pico de gallo, avocados or roasted corn, this cream is the ticket to really tasty and clean tacos. To make the greek yogurt cream sauce you need:
